Biography
David Tully brings over 15 years of Washington experience to the position as Vice President of Government Relations. In his current capacity, he oversees the day-to-day advocacy activities of the AAFP, including management of legislative affairs, federal policy and regulatory affairs, political affairs and member engagement, and the Center for State Policy.
Prior to AAFP, Tully was Managing Director of Legislative Advocacy and Operations for the BlueCross BlueShield Association (BCBSA), where he was responsible for advocating BCBSAs policy priorities before Congress and oversaw operational aspects of the Federal Relations Division.
Tully has held other legislative roles during his time in Washington, including Senior Legislative Assistant to Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, and a Legislative Affairs Specialist in the Congressional and Public Affairs Division at United States Chamber of Commerce.
He received his bachelors degree in political science from the University of Delaware and a masters degree in public policy from George Mason University. He is actively engaged in local government and various philanthropic opportunities across the Washington area. Tully resides with his wife and son in University Park, MD.
