Ken Altman
Biography
Ken Altman serves as the Vice President of Government Affairs at Amtrak, overseeing all federal, state, and local legislative affairs and outreach, federal regulatory affairs, external affairs, and public policy for the company. Prior to joining Amtrak in 2016, Ken worked on Capitol Hill for more than 12 years. During this time, he worked as Professional Staff on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, as a Legislative Assistant and Appropriations Director for key senators, and as a district staffer in Philadelphia. Ken holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science from the University of Delaware and has completed executive certificate programs in infrastructure finance, corporate communications, and public relations through Harvard University, Cornell University and MIT, respectively.
